Delete your Collecta account
Deletion is permanent and immediate. Everything goes — there is no recovery window and no copy kept behind the scenes.
If you can sign in — do it yourself, instantly
This is the fastest route and it needs nobody’s help:
- Sign in to Collecta.
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to Danger zone → Delete my account.
- Type the confirmation phrase and confirm. Your account is gone before the page finishes reloading.
If you cannot sign in
Email us from the address on the account. We verify the request comes from that mailbox, delete the account, and confirm when it is done — usually within a couple of business days, and always within 30.
We ask you to write from the account’s own email on purpose. An open form that erased an account from just an address typed into it would let anyone delete anyone.
What gets deleted
- Your account, email address, display name, preferences and the context you wrote about yourself.
- Every note, bucket, tag, annotation and chat thread.
- Every uploaded file, image, PDF, screenshot, voice note and meeting recording, plus their transcripts.
- Every research report, insights reading, saved search and share link. Links you shared stop resolving for whoever had them.
- Your subscription entitlements and usage records.
Nothing survives in a backup we can restore from. If you want a copy, take it first.
Get a copy before you go
Settings → Export builds a full archive of your notes and buckets in JSON and Markdown, free on every plan. It takes about a minute, and it means leaving costs you nothing.
Cancelling a subscription is separate
If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, deleting your Collecta account does not cancel the subscription — only the store can do that. Cancel it in your device’s subscription settings first, or you will keep being billed for an account that no longer exists.
